In 2022, the item, "traditional tea processing techniques and associated social practices in China", was inscribed on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), which includes six national intangible cultural heritage (ICH) items of Zhejiang.
Zhejiang tea has an extended history with a rich variety of tea leaves and tea processing techniques. This exhibition will showcase 40 representative ICH items from Zhejiang, employing text panels, photographs, video screenings and exhibits in tandem with on-site demonstrations by ICH bearers, and thematic talks by specialists. Visitors will be able to appreciate various kinds of exquisite tea processing techniques and learn about the related tea culture of Zhejiang. While enjoying the unique charm of the tea culture of Zhejiang, visitors can also gain a deeper understanding of traditional Chinese culture.
