''Celebrating National Day — Auspicious Intangible Cultural Heritage of the Greater Bay Area'' Exhibition

The Greater Bay Area (GBA) Cities as the cradle of the Lingnan culture share the same cultural origin. The profound humanistic foundation has nurtured the rich and characteristic intangible cultural heritage (ICH) items. This exhibition showcases auspicious animals and ICH items from 11 GBA cities, including Hong Kong, Macao, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Foshan, Huizhou, Dongguan, Zhongshan, Jiangmen and Zhaoqing, such as Hakka Unicorn Dance in Hang Hau in Sai Kung, Hong Kong, Festival of the Drunken Dragon in Macao and Foshan Lion Head Crafting, etc., through interactive exhibits, graphic panels, video screenings and experiential activities. Visitors will be able to appreciate and experience a variety of superb ICH skills, immerse themselves in the unique charm of Lingnan culture and gain a deeper understanding of Chinese culture. It also marks the celebration of the 75th anniversary of founding of the People's Republic of China with the citizens in auspicious and joyous atmosphere.

This exhibition is one of the events in "The Fourth Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Culture and Arts Festival", "Cultured Bay Area, Brilliant ICH— 2024 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Intangible Cultural Heritage Show" and also the Chinese Culture Promotion Series. The Leisure and Cultural Services Department has long been promoting Chinese history and culture through organising an array of programmes and activities to enable the public to learn more about the broad and profound Chinese culture. For more information, please visit www.lcsd.gov.hk/en/ccpo/index.html.

Apart from special on-site creative art installation and experiential activities with ICH elements, the exhibition will also feature a variety of demonstrations and experiential activities in the Hong Kong Heritage Museum and Sam Tung Uk Museum, introducing the public to the diversity of ICH.
