Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) Office invited veteran paper crafting master Mr Mo Cheuk-kei to create exquisite lanterns with the theme of "Spirited Horse and ICH Bring you the New Year Blessings". The lithe horse, nimble lucky bats and lively lions are transformed into dazzling lanterns. The galloping horse wishes you to achieve great success! The bat lanterns, with "bat" symbolising "fortune," pray for a home full of blessings; and the lion dolls holding New Year's hui chun (spring scroll) seem to be offering New Year's greetings to the audience.

This lantern exhibition incorporates different elements of Hong Kong's ICH, including traditional paper crafting technique, lion dance and sticking hui chun (spring scrolls). Skillful craftsmanship and the preservation of ICH! This is not just a lantern exhibition, but a festive feast of cultural transmission. Everyone is welcome to visit, feel the warmth of handmade crafts, the brilliance of the lanterns, and embark on a New Year lantern journey carrying the blessings of ICH!

The exhibition is also one of the activities in the Chinese Culture Promotion Series. The LCSD has long been promoting Chinese history and culture through organising an array of programmes and activities to enable the public to learn more about the broad and profound Chinese culture.
