Paper crafting technique is a folk skill with a long history. It plays an important role in traditional festival celebrations and folk religious ceremonies. It carries the history and culture of different ethnic groups and has important social and cultural value. The crafted rabbit lanterns on display are the work of the students of the community-driven project entitled "Traditional Craftsmanship.Transmission of Paper Crafting Technique", under the ICH Funding Scheme. The paper crafting technique is an item on the "Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Hong Kong". This exhibition hopes that visitors can understand the artistic and cultural value of traditional paper crafting technique by appreciating the students' crafted lanterns.
