Talk – Tai O Dragon Boat Water Parade and Intangible Cultural Heritage

Tai O dragon boat water parade was inscribed onto the Third National List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2011. It is held every year during the Dragon Boat Festival to invoke blessings for well-being and peace.

 

The lecture will explore the historical, social and cultural significance of this national intangible cultural heritage.

"Tai O Dragon Boat Water Parade" Observation Tour

In association with the above talk, an observation tour will be held on the day of Dragon Boat Festival. Participants who joined the tour can observe the dragon boat parade in stilt houses with the local residents on the day of Dragon Boat Festival in Tai O, which is a good opportunity to learn more about this intangible cultural heritage item and have dialogues with the local residents. (Docent service will not be provided.)
