Presented by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, the Hong Kong Book Fair 2026 (36th edition) takes "Reading the World: Cultural Legacy | Joyful Journeys" as its annual theme. It aims to encourage readers to explore how traditional culture is inherited and reimagined in contemporary society through reading. By engaging in cultural and eco-tourism, readers are invited to experience more deeply the beauty of both humanity and nature, enriching their worldview and nourishing the spirit through the joyful journey.

Among the highlights, the "World of Art & Culture" supported by the Cultural and Creative Industries Development Agency of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region brings the "World in Words, A Voyage of the Heart" exhibition. Across 4 zones, it uses "Local Eye" and "Global Eye" views to connect Hong Kong stories with world literature, showing the beauty of different cultures. There are 6 interactive setups, in collaboration with different consulates in Hong Kong, showcases over 200 books and items from around the world to make "travel literature" easy and fun to understand.

The Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) Office also uses this exhibition to introduce "Guangcai" (The Canton Famille Rose Porcelain) to the public. Guangcai is renowned for its designs that blend Chinese and Western elements and is also a representative example of export porcelain that bears witness to cultural exchanges between China and the rest of the world. The "Guangcai Making Technique" was inscribed on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Hong Kong in 2024. In recent years, the ICH Office has actively promoted Hong Kong’s ICH by publishing “The Hong Kong Intangible Cultural Heritage Series” through the “ICH Funding Scheme.” Through this exhibition, the ICH Office showcases 4 sets of Guangcai exhibits and 20 monographs from the series. In addition to presenting recent research findings, the exhibition aims to deepen the public’s understanding of Hong Kong’s ICH and continue to foster cultural exchange between China and the rest of the world.
