Hong Kong Intangible Cultural Heritage – Exhibition on Traditional Paper Crafting

Date: 14 - 19 February 2019 (Thursday to Tuesday)
Time: 6 - 11 pm
Venue: Hong Kong Cultural Centre Piazza

For the Lunar New Year Lantern Carnival 2019, the Intangible Cultural Heritage Office presents 11 palace lanterns and a merry-go-round lantern made by an experienced local paper crafting master; illustrations on the lanterns are the works of a local artist inspired by the themes of the 12 Chinese zodiac animals and the intangible cultural heritage items of Hong Kong. This combination of traditional craftsmanship and creative design will give us a brand new experience in the Chinese New Year. We bring forward the exquisite craftsmanship of local master in the exhibition such that the public would be able to understand the importance of safeguarding the intangible cultural heritage of Hong Kong while enjoying the festive season.
