Guangzhou-Hong Kong-Macao Intangible Cultural Heritage Symposium

 

The "Cultural and Natural Heritage Day" of 2023 was scheduled for 10 June. The Intangible Cultural Heritage Office (ICHO) was invited to be the supporting organisation and participate in the kick-off ceremony of "'Cultural and Natural Heritage Day' — Guangzhou Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) Promotion Event", as well as the "Guangzhou-Hong Kong-Macao Intangible Cultural Heritage Symposium", presented by the Guangzhou Municipal Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism Bureau. Representatives from the ICH sector, including ICH practitioners, bearers and young entrepreneurial representatives, shared and exchanged the latest information and achievements in the protection of ICH in each region, fostering the sustainable development of ICH, and laying the foundation for further exchanges among the regions in the future.

 

The event featured an exhibition of "Intangible Cultural Heritage of Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Macao", introducing ICH items from the three regions to the residents of and visitors to Nansha. The Hong Kong section featured ICH items such as Bamboo Theatre Building Technique, Hong Kong-style Milk Tea Making Technique, Paper Crafting Technique, Lion Dance, Dragon Dance, and Hakka Unicorn Dance in Hang Hau in Sai Kung.
