This year, intangible cultural heritage dragon boating meets the Mid-Autumn Festival! As the Dragon Boating is one of the mass participation events in the 2025 National Games, the Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) Office invited veteran paper-crafting master Mr Hui Ka-hung to create exquisite lanterns with the theme of "Moonlit ICH Shining with Brilliant Boats and Lanterns". This lantern exhibition combines the vigour of dragon boating with the wish of Mid-Autumn Festival reunion, implying that families can celebrate the festival together and move towards happiness and perfection.

Colourful and lifelike crafted lanterns incorporate many elements of Hong Kong's ICH, presenting the excitement of dragon boat racing, the ingenuity of the mooncake making technique, the childhood memories of classic carambola lantern, the enduring elegance of Cheongsam, as well as Cantonese opera costumes presenting the beauty of opera and Hong Kong-style milk tea exuding the local taste. This exhibition takes the audience on a journey through lanterns, traditional craftsmanship and culture, allowing them to experience the charm of Hong Kong's ICH.

The exhibition is also one of the activities in the Chinese Culture Promotion Series. The LCSD has long been promoting Chinese history and culture through organising an array of programmes and activities to enable the public to learn more about the broad and profound Chinese culture.
