The Intangible Cultural Heritage Office (ICHO) was invited to participate in the "2023 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) Exchange Conference". Activities included the "ICH Exchange Conference", "ICH Fair", "Paddy Field ICH Show” and “ICH Video Showcase".
By facilitating communication and exchange amongst experts and ICH bearers, the conference fostered the preservation and inheritance of culture, sharing the fruition of ICH conservation within the Greater Bay Area and laying the foundation for further exchanges among the regions in the future. A Hong Kong-style milk tea master, Mr. Donald Tse, demonstrated the "Hong Kong-style Milk Tea Making Technique" on site, brewing hot milk tea to share and promote Hong Kong's food culture. The demonstration was well-received by the mainland visitors. ICHO provided the "Paddy Field ICH Show" with Hong Kong cheongsam for the models of the show, demonstrating the beauty of the models. The "ICH Video Showcase", on the other hand, allowed us to introduce the characteristics of Hong Kong's ICH items, including traditional festivals and folk crafts.
