Also known as "Da Chiu", the Jiao Festival is one of the most important traditional festive events in Hong Kong. The main objectives of the Jiao Festival are to express gratitude to deities, to pray for harmony between yin and yang and favourable weather, to purify the community through religious rituals, and to restore peace in the community.

The Jiao Festival in the villages of the Hing Chun Yeuk in Sha Tau Kok, which is celebrated once every ten years, took place in December 2019. To tie in with this significant festive event, the Intangible Cultural Heritage Office presents the exhibition with a view to introducing the history of Hing Chun Yeuk, as well as the cultural significance of this traditional festival.
