The Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Hong Kong –
Exhibition on Traditional Craftsmanship of Lantern Making

Date: 30 September (Saturday) - 8 October (Sunday) 2017
Time: 6:30 pm-11:00 pm (6:30 pm-12:00 midnight on 4 October)
Venue: Pitch No. 4, Victoria Park, Hong Kong

To add to the fun fair mood of the Urban Mid-Autumn Lantern Carnival 2017, the Intangible Cultural Heritage Office has chosen two items on the first Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Hong Kong – "Paper Crafting Technique" and "Technique of Making Hong Kong Cheongsam and Kwan Kwa Wedding Costume", and merged them into an impressive display of both. The lanterns, handmade by a local master craftsman using the traditional paper-crafting expertise, will be in the shape of pretty cheongsam - the traditional gowns worn by ladies. Visitors can get to know more about the invaluable intangible cultural heritage of Hong Kong as we celebrate the festival together.
