In order to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, Sik Sik Yuen, as the protection unit of the national intangible cultural heritage (ICH) item - "Wong Tai Sin Belief and Customs", organises the three-week programme namely "Celebrating the 75th Anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China - Sik Sik Yuen Intangible Cultural Heritage Lantern Festival", covering the Mid-Autumn Festival, the birthday of Wong Tai Sin and the National Day. To showcase the excellence of Chinese culture and ICH by inviting ICH bearer organisations from Hong Kong and the Mainland, the programme highlights include:

 

(1) large-scale lantern display;

(2) an exhibition on Hong Kong's ICH items inscribed on the National List of ICH;

(3) ICH art performances on national ICH items;

(4) drone show;

(5) celebration of the national day and open day at Wong Tai Sin Temple;

(6) craftsman spirit series; and

 

workshops and lectures on ICH with different themes. Hope to enhance the festive atmosphere and have fun with the public.
