"ICH Mission - I wanna be an ICH Bearer" Series – Mastering the ABCs of the Ten Local ICHs 

 
There are currently ten local items inscribed onto the National List of Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH), viz.: 
 
Cantonese opera, herbal tea, Cheung Chau Jiao Festival, Tai O dragon boat water parade, Yu Lan Festival of the Hong Kong Chiu Chow community, Tai Hang fire dragon dance, the arts of the Guqin (the craft of Qin making), Quanzhen temples Taoist ritual music, Hakka unicorn dance in Hang Hau, Sai King, Wong Tai Sin belief and customs 
 
Want to learn about all of them in one go? Get enrolled and have a taste of the theory, demonstration, performance and hands-on experience all related to the ten local items on the National List. Be impressed by the ancient wisdom manifested by festive events, social practices and rituals, performing arts and traditional craftsmanship.
 
Participants of the three sessions will interact with the ICH bearers. Under the instruction of the bearers, participants will be trying Hakka unicorn dance, "making" guqin, dressing up as Cantonese opera artists and visiting Taoist organisations which are bearers of "Wong Tai Sin belief and customs" and the "Quanzhen temples Taoist ritual music".  
     
Upon conclusion of the course, participants will have the opportunity to be appointed as ICH Ambassadors and join in the promotional activities launched by the ICH Office to disseminate their knowledge to a wider audience.

Hong Kong Intangible Cultural Heritage Centre (Sam Tung Uk Museum, 2 Kwu Uk Lane, Tsuen Wan)

The course will include visits to Wong Tai Sin Temple and Fung Ying Seen Koon (Transportation will be arranged by the Organiser)
