Exhibition on "Paper Crafting Technique in Hong Kong: History, Transmission and Innovation"

Free admission

To complement the series of "Traditional Arts and Crafts @ North District", the Hong Kong Public Libraries and the Intangible Cultural Heritage Office are jointly organising an exhibition at the two public libraries in North District. This exhibition introduces the historical development of the paper crafting industry in Hong Kong and the transmission of the paper crafting technique. Visitors can learn more about the important roles of the paper crafting technique in its cultural context of festive celebrations and folk traditions.

In parallel, Fanling and Sheung Shui Public Libraries are also organising a series of activities in relation to intangible cultural heritage items in Hong Kong, including talks, workshops, children storytelling theatre, book recommendation, etc. Participants will gain a better understanding and experience of the relationship among local traditional crafts, our daily lives and the local festive celebrations. For more details of the events, please check out Hong Kong Public Libraries' website: https://www.hkpl.gov.hk/en/extension-activities/event/231343/traditional-arts-and-crafts-north-district?page=1.
