As an Asia's World City, the Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) of Hong Kong characterises its openness, inclusiveness, vitality and cultural diversity. Not only derived from Chinese traditions, the stories of many ICH items are an East-meets-West process. In line with the theme and context of the "Hong Kong Week 2025@Seoul" opening programmes organised by the Cultural Exchange Liaison Office, the ICH Office presented a special showcase at the opening ceremony, with a focus on Hong Kong cheongsam making technique inscribed onto the Fifth National List of ICH in 2021. At the same time, the guests could also savour Hong Kong dim sum and egg tarts while enjoying the video that featured the memorable moments of the "ICH Highlight Tours", appreciating the diversity of Hong Kong's ICH through sensory experiences.

Distinctive Hong Kong ICH items not only reflect the daily lives of the city but also manifest the unique charm of the fusion of Chinese and Western culture. Together, they shape the diverse cultural landscape of this Asia's World City.

Through this distinguished festival in Seoul, the ICH Office promoted the city's ICH and fostered cultural exchange between Korea and Hong Kong. For details of the "Hong Kong Week 2025@Seoul", please visit https://www.hongkongweek.gov.hk/2025Seoul/en/index.
