Hong Kong Intangible Cultural Heritage – Exhibition on Traditional Paper Crafting

Date: 21-25 September 2018 (Friday to Tuesday)
Time: 6:30 -11 pm (6:30 pm-12:00 midnight on 24 September 2018)
Venue: Pitch No. 2, Victoria Park, Hong Kong

"Paper Crafting Technique" is inscribed onto the first Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Hong Kong, being valued both as a folk art and an age-old tradition. To celebrate the 2018 Mid-Autumn Lantern Carnival, the Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) Office has invited Master Mo Cheuk-kei, local master craftsman to create over 90 lanterns in the shape of the "auspicious bat". They will be placed in a display area decorated as a night sky with a glittering galaxy, making a wondrous scene of colourful, luminous bats flying in the dark. The ICH Office hopes that through such in-depth understanding of paper-crafting as a local ICH, the people of Hong Kong would also be blessed by the luck the mascot brings.
